We’re betting on quite a few rising trends for 2025 that will turn standard home decor upside down. Interiors are poised to become even more personal, formal, and functional. We will no longer see cookie-cutter spaces that follow fads; we’re seeing a thoughtful evolution—one that blends comfort with artistry, nostalgia with modernity, and structure with softness.
Designers are rethinking everything in interior design—from how we entertain to how we unwind—to create spaces that reflect the people who live in them. And that’s what we’ll be talking about in today’s blog post.
Keep reading to learn all about the top 13 interior design trends for 2025 🤍

Sustainable Materials
This is a major interior design trend for 2025. Homeowners are becoming increasingly aware of their impact on the environment, leading to eco-conscious decisions when picking out home decor.
Some of these materials continue to exist from 2024—for example, zero-VOC paints, which emit little ‘invisible chemicals’ that are harmful to our health. Then we have reclaimed wood—the hero of cozy room design.
But 2025 is also seeing some unique ideas…
- Rugs made from recycled ocean plastics. While plastic can kill in the ocean, it can actually make for a beautiful centerpiece in your living room (if repurposed, of course). Fab Habitat is one brand we appreciate for taking this initiative.
- Mycelium furniture. Mycelium is a biodegradable material that is grown from fungal spores—so, even if we use it to make our furniture, we won’t be harming the environment. Mycelium Muse has began using mycelium for their desks.

Home Wellness Spaces
Health and well-being are becoming more and more important in interior design. This gives rise to the concept of home wellness spaces. How you add this element of wellness to your home entirely depends on your preferences.
This can be tiny yoga studios, meditation rooms, spa-like bathrooms…anything that can help you relax. In such spaces, natural elements are key. Like natural light, indoor plants, and calming colors.

Integrated Outdoor Spaces
Blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor spaces is a trend that keeps gaining momentum with really no ending in sight. It’s easy to see why: outdoor spaces should be as comfy and stylish as indoor ones.
You can add any amenities you mostly use outdoors. A cozy seating area is a must, and this can be paired with an outdoor kitchen (if you don’t like those back-and-forth trips when hosting in your garden) and weather-resistant decor.

AI-Powered Tech
You’ve probably heard of and/or tried “Hey Alexa, turn up the music”. That was cool—but with Artificial Intelligence becoming prevalent, we’re seeing convenience in forms never seen before!
Systems will now adapt according to your preferences. They will notice patterns in your behavior, and will be able to perform tasks even without your instructions. For example, HVAC systems will learn your temperature preferences and regulate the home’s environment accordingly. And lighting will begin to adjust according to your mood/time of the day.

Discreet Tech
That said, 2025 will see technology that’s even more seamlessly integrated into our homes. This means incorporating smart home devices in a way that can effortlessly blend with the decor. For example, wireless charging furniture and voice-controlled lighting.

Warm Color Palettes
In 2024, we saw a swing from cool colors to warmer palettes. And we’re super excited to share that these tones are making their way into 2025, too!
Consumer preferences have shifted from sandy beiges—which have been popular for quite some time—to caramel and rich, chocolatey hues. In fact, Pantone just recently announced their color of the year for 2025: Mocha Mousse. This is a warming brown imbued with richness, perfectly working with the predicted palette for the year.

Room for Hobbies
One prime focus of interior design trends for 2025 is spaces that are personal. This means making room for the things you love. For example, if you love playing the guitar—create a dedicated station to showcase it on a wall of your home office. Work and passion go hand in hand, after all 😊

Jewel Tones—Used Sparingly
Warm tones create a cozy ambiance—but how about some visual interest? Let’s just say, interior designers are still riding on the high of last year’s Barbenheimer craze, relying on contrasting colors 😉
Paired with the neutrals mentioned earlier, we’ll see jewel tones—like deep amethysts and rich emeralds—used sparingly throughout interiors. These help punctuate the spaces and bring depth.
Valspar chose Encore, a rich, saturated jewel tone in shades of blue, as their color of the year for 2025. So that’s a great place to start!

Textures (Lots of Them)
Warmth and comfort are at the forefront of 2025 design trends. And one of the best ways to achieve this is with textures. Sure, soft furnishings can help achieve the purpose—but before you get to the accessories, you also want to give a thought to the base.
We mean, oversized sofas and deep-seated chairs that invite you to sink in. The furniture arrangement should also be one that encourages conversations. The overall vibe of the space should be cozy and lived-in.

Sensorial Interior Design
In the upcoming year, interior design will focus on all senses—not just sight. For the sense of touch, you want plenty of textures. For the sense of smell, diffuse your favorite scents. The fragrance trends for 2025 encourage food-inspired aromas. Something like the buttery smell of a croissant. Or the sweet and savory notes of rich chocolates.
For the sense of hearing, consider setting up a speaker system (if you don’t have one already) to play soothing music. And, of course, plenty of light—from your windows as well as your layered indoor lighting—to please that sense of sight.

Bold Ceilings
Decorative ceilings are officially back, and we’re so thankful! A good ceiling can instantly elevate a room’s design. Whether it’s intricate moldings or coffered designs; vibrant colors or bold patterns; your eye will be drawn upwards, creating a unique focal point.
Another approach is painting the ceiling the same color as the surrounding walls. Or perhaps, adding a quick wallpaper. You can also keep it simple and allow architectural details to make their statement.

Soft Lines
Especially for the furniture! Curves aren’t going anywhere in 2025. We’ll see softer silhouettes in almost everything, from curvaceous couches to rounded side tables. These create a warm and inviting environment. You’ll be surprised at how much relaxation such pieces encourage! Exactly what we’re looking to create in our homes for 2025.

Maximalism
While it may be hard to believe, minimalism is out the door. Instead, 2025 will be celebrating abundance and excess with maximalism. This means moody colors and (lots of) intricate patterns. We’re also seeing hint of the retro style, like a vintage couch in a modern living room.
